At the 2024 Oakville Community Foundation Awards, Budds' Group of Companies was honored with The Family Founders Cup, a prestigious recognition that celebrates a family's lasting, multi-generational impact on the Oakville community. The award was presented in acknowledgment of Budds' ongoing contributions to the growth and well-being of Oakville over several decades.

The OCF was a perfect conduit for this as many worthy charities are recipients. Named after the founding families of the Oakville Community Foundation – Ann Mulvale, Bruce Etherington, Jim Ayres, Larry Wilson, William MacLeod, Bill Deyell, and Don Noble – The Family Founders Cup recognizes those whose dedication and philanthropy help to shape and sustain the values of community, connection, and service. Budds' Group, which has deep roots in Oakville, is celebrated for its commitment to local development, charitable giving, and creating a positive legacy for future generations.
The award underscores not only the company’s business success but also its deep sense of responsibility to support Oakville's growth and vitality. Accepting the award on behalf of the family, Terry and his wife Carol accepted the award, alongside the next generation of Budds’ leaders, Sarah Budd (Vice President of Operations) and Shelley Budd (Marketing Manager) and not present was Chris Budd and Jeff Budd (Vice President of Operations). They expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and give back to the community they’ve called home for so long. They are carrying on a tradition that they know their Grandparents Stuart and Bonnie would be proud of.
